3. Conclusion

The study of switching constraints has led designers of power conversion circuits to propose switching assistance circuits (CALCs) to manage these constraints (losses, EMC, dv /dt, di/dt...). These CALCs can take different forms, depending on the generation of semiconductors used, the evolution of some of their characteristics, or the objective sought (circuit simplicity, high operating frequency, efficiency optimization, etc.). However, the general principles presented in this dossier are still applicable, and should enable us to understand and study these polymorphic circuits.

The concept of soft switching, which represents a certain culmination of this approach to managing switching constraints, has also been introduced and, without claiming to be exhaustive, its essential features have been summarized.
