3. Conclusion

Ferroresonance, like all non-linear phenomena, is relatively complex. As its occurrence is quite rare, it has been little-known until now. Within the mathematical framework of bifurcations, much of the surprising behavior can now be analyzed and, in a number of cases, explained, although there is still work to be done on these subjects using a new approach that would also draw on the mathematical and physical theories of nonlinear systems.

Numerical tools (cf. [Doc. D 92] )based on recent mathematical research are available for the numerical study of such circuits. Nevertheless, given the sensitivity of the ferroresonance phenomenon to the values of network parameters, it is always necessary to carry out a broad parametric study, and to take significant safety margins into account to guarantee the...
