3. Electrical data

3.1 Voltage

The thermodynamic voltage (expressed in volts) of a battery depends on the materials used to make up its negative and positive electrodes. It is directly linked to the free enthalpy of the overall reaction that will take place in the cell.

The relationship used to calculate the thermodynamic voltage is as follows:
