2. Determination of electromagnetic fields

2.1 General

The determination of electromagnetic fields is of great interest to the engineer in charge of designing electrical machines. Indeed, the design and evaluation of a synchronous machine rely on knowledge of inductions, from which derive the calculation of forces in conductors, ampere-turns consumed in magnetic circuits, useful and leakage fluxes, reactances, etc. The analysis of these electromagnetic phenomena is based on the resolution of Maxwell's equations. The analysis of these electromagnetic phenomena is based on the resolution of Maxwell's equations, whose complexity is such as to preclude, in most cases, any analytical formulation [3][18]
