3. Conclusion

Finite element calculation methods are increasingly becoming an integral part of the tools used by the engineer responsible for dimensioning synchronous machines. The ever-increasing power of computer hardware means that these tools are constantly being improved. The main areas of development are as follows:

  • taking into account variable rotor speed by introducing the mechanical equations of the shaft line ;
