1. Calculation and thermal optimization through numerical modeling

Calculating the temperature distribution, highlighting the parameters governing critical zones and, if necessary, optimizing the cooling circuit to comply with the constraints and standards imposed is not possible analytically, even if highly simplified analog networks can provide good orders of magnitude as a first approach. Generally speaking, a complete description of the electrical system under study, its immediate environment and the sources and transfers of heat within it, requires a numerical modeling approach . Field calculation software is now part of the design engineer's toolbox, and is therefore widely used in the design office.
