4. Conclusion
This article has presented multifunction converters (MFCs) as potential low-cost solutions for compensating the reactive and distorting power consumed by local loads. The advantage of using CMFs is that they ensure the improvement of electrical power quality, in particular current wave quality, without the addition of additional devices dedicated to this purpose [29]. Furthermore, the use of CMFs is motivated by the communicative nature of the emerging new microgrid concept and the intermittency of the renewable energy sources (RES) it incorporates.
