4. Conclusion

Electrical installations in single-family homes are subject to strict standards.

The standard common to all electrical installations is the electrical standard NF C15-100 published by AFNOR. This standard is the normative bible for all electricians. It details the characteristics of electrical installations and the rules for their implementation. The requirements of this standard apply equally to new installations and to those that have been completely renovated.

Before a new installation can be connected to the grid, it must be certified as compliant by the Comité national pour la sécurité des usagers de l'électricité (CONSUEL). The certificate is completed by the electrician, who sends it to the CONSUEL regional office for validation.
