3. For dry, healthy construction

3.1 Lower construction costs in the dry process

Timber construction is part of the dry construction sector, as opposed to wet construction based on concrete, poured cement or cinder blocks, which is highly energy-intensive, not only for the manufacture of these materials, but also for their transport and installation.

A dry construction site has no water consumption costs, and low transport costs. In fact, dry construction uses a large number of lightweight load-bearing elements, pre-assembled in the factory, most of which can be maneuvered, thus reducing the number of hoists needed to install them. For these reasons, intervention times are reduced, construction times are shorter (and therefore less costly), and there is no drying period to take into account....
