5. Cellular concrete

5.1 Presentation

Cellular concretes are lightweight, highly porous materials, generally whitish or gray in color.

Their name comes from their alveolar structure. They contain a multitude of small, spherical cavities of the order of a millimetre in size, which do not communicate with each other.
