The standard is an essential reference, as it constitutes the rules of the art. It also protects the customer and clarifies competition.
5.1 Three categories of standards
We distinguish :
French standard AFNOR ;
the European standard EN, which became a national standard under the name NF EN ;
the international ISO standard, which is not mandatory.
