Tile roofing can only be installed on a suitably flat roof structure.

5.1 Wind action

Tiles may need to be fixed either to prevent them from slipping, or to prevent them from lifting due to the action of the wind on the roof. The storms of 1990 and 1999 underlined the need to secure roof tiles, and largely contributed to the evolution and reinforcement of the regulations, which specify that it may be necessary to secure roof tiles either to prevent them from slipping, or to oppose their lifting under the effect of wind action on the roofing.
