2. The basics

2.1 Basic tasks

The definition of these operations depends on the project under study. They may consist of :

  • a succession of simple gestures (e.g. turning the mixer, weighing chippings, pouring chippings into the mixer, weighing sand, etc.);

  • a coherent set of tasks (e.g. making concrete) ;

  • a set of operations (for example, building the shell of a bungalow);

  • a larger operation (e.g. building the pavilion).

On the other hand, an operation that seems to form a perfect entity can be broken down into several different operations if each of its parts is subject to a particular constraint.
