4. Conclusion

The act of building must take into account the constraints imposed by the French Building Code, as well as those linked to the environment and town planning regulations. Risk zones are taken into account: flooding, ground collapse, nature of the terrain (for example, clay zones can lead to cracking and even collapse).

Before building, two types of application must be made to the town hall: the informative planning certificate and the operational planning certificate, which will provide information for preparing the building permit file. The latter is compulsory when a prior declaration of works is not sufficient.
