12.1 Smoke extraction from main evacuation staircase

The main evacuation staircase, if enclosed, is pressurized and has an opening of at least 1 m 2 at the top, the manual control of which is located close to the access to the staircase on the evacuation level.

The overpressure achieved is between 20 and 80 Pa. These values apply with all doors closed. The flow rate is such as to ensure an air velocity greater than or equal to 0.50 m/s through the access door to the sinitré level, with the other levels closed.
