1. General provisions

1.1 General (article GH 1)

1. With the exception of administrative provisions and those relating to technical inspections and maintenance, these regulations do not apply to existing high-rise buildings.

When work to replace, fit out or extend a building is undertaken, the provisions of the present by-law apply only to the parts of the construction or installations modified.

However, if these modifications have the effect of increasing the risk to the building as a whole, additional safety measures may be imposed after consultation with the Safety Commission.
