3. Prefabricated walls

The use of prefabricated elements for retaining walls is a relatively rare technique, except when rapid construction is required.

In this case, prefabrication may be carried out on site and/or in the factory.

This method can only be justified in the case of buttressed walls.

The buttresses are prefabricated, as is the screen formed by slabs bearing between the buttresses (figure 28 ).
