2.1 Corrosion treatment of steel and iron structures
In a rehabilitation project, corrosion of existing elements can be one of the problems to be solved. The age and lack of maintenance of a building can reveal the beginnings of corrosion or more severe corrosion, the source of serious structural pathologies that need to be treated with the utmost efficiency.
Internal steel or iron structures are generally spared from deep corrosion, as long as they are not subject to any particular situation, such as being kept in recurring damp or exposed to acidic or caustic industrial or animal sprays.
