6. Application techniques for repairing spalls
There are a wide variety of situations. Intervention can be used to :
fill a chip caused by impact ;
fill a cavity created by chemical or mechanical attack, or resulting from faulty installation (gravel nest);
give texture to a concrete surface that has been superficially degraded by climatic (frost, acid rain), thermal (fire) or chemical effects;
restore the initial mechanical characteristics of a damaged component. In this case, the material contributes to the mechanical reinforcement of the component.
Each situation calls for one or more types of levelling compound, as well as different application methods (manual or mechanized (mortar or shotcrete)). Each type of application has its own specific requirements....
