3. Application to reinforced concrete beams reinforced with composite materials
3.1 Beam geometry
Sixteen reinforced concrete beams measuring 150×250×2300 mm 3 were manufactured and tested.
In order to assess the reliability of the results, for each reinforcement system, one to two beams were analyzed. The beams were strengthened by two 12 mm diameter steel reinforcements in the tensioned section and by two 8 mm diameter reinforcements in the compressed section; they were reinforced in shear by twenty-eight 6 mm diameter frames. 4 details the reinforcement configurations. Their total length is 2.3 m, with a clear span of 2 m. The reinforcements are 1.95 m long.
