Containment; confinement

Stresses applied to a material resulting in a state of multiaxial compression within it.

Ductility; ductility

Ductility refers to the ability of concrete to be stretched, extended, bent or deformed without breaking.

Non-linear mechanical behavior of a material characterized by the development of microcracks within the medium and a decrease in the material's stiffness.
