ABSTRACT

Today's construction professionals are engaged in a major debate on the digitization of the construction value chain. The ongoing issue is the threat from BIM tools to the preservation of the positions held by each actor. But more importantly, the performance of the urban fabric is not aligned with the initial requirements of the brief. In this article, a new instrument is specified for “brief conformation”. Its purpose is to ensure the performance level of the brief and to achieve fitness for use of the result. This tool combines two principles: space discretization and its mutualization. Its implementation should ensure a more fluid value chain.

AUTHOR

 INTRODUCTION

The aim of this article is to establish the principle of a new artefact, designated as conformation, which would make it possible to solve the problem that consists, in design theory, of authorizing a gradual and smooth process of untimely questioning of what has been acquired. It is organized into four chapters:

  • a reflection on the specific context of the construction, which must identify the conditions to be fulfilled by any approach, both operative and procedural;

  • the creation of a body of hypotheses capable of responding to the previous analysis and enabling a process to be developed;

  • the implementation of the latter by specifying the various stages of a methodological approach combining and mobilizing various tools;

  • a consideration of the conditions for validating this new approach to the initialization of any real estate operation.

The space of ordinary practice is not quite that of the physicist, nor is it quite that of the geometer. For they are not all defined by the same experiments or operations.
