ABSTRACT

To face climate change the construction sector which contributes to create a new ecosystem cannot only add punctual solutions. In a systemic perspective it needs new tools to increase the accuracy of the projects. The energy approach seems to be an efficient means to reach such a point.

This opus describes the implementation of this new path for each project sustainable development improvement.

 INTRODUCTION

While everyone agrees that it is essential to transform the construction industry, the means of doing so remain highly uncertain.

For many, the energy transition is at the heart of our efforts, but it is seen in a very simplistic light.

The decarbonization of construction activities is inevitable. However, it is seen as a constraint that could be lifted by means specific to the GHG issue, but with no particular consequences for the context as a whole. This silo treatment would only require appropriate purely technological solutions, all other things being equal. However, the certainty of a result cannot be taken for granted, and this is the reason for their slow implementation. And this creates a collective malaise of indecision and inaction, the threat of which grows daily.

The question is how to define a common thread that will enable us to adjust a responsible trajectory at any time.

The aim is to be able to instrument ecological and solidarity-based planning in such a way that every player becomes a proactive agent. More prosaically, the aim is to enable every professional to make informed decisions on a daily basis. The idea is to regain the ability to guide each action in a documented way, and to regain the feeling of being able to "control the course of things" rather than being subjected to it. This operative dimension will be constant throughout this booklet.

To this end, the exercise to be deployed is organized in three stages.

The first is epistemological. To find a tool that facilitates action, we first need to reflect on the very nature of the objective pursued. The object sought is undoubtedly technical. However, the question is not related to its nature, but rather to its mode of implementation. What are the characteristics of an action process? In what way can an instrument be a decision-making aid that accompanies the ongoing process? It's not a question of the consistency of the knowledge required, but of the ability to mobilize it.

The second is a return to the particularities of the concept of energy. Beyond its physical nature, one of the remarkable properties of energy is that it mobilizes numerous dynamic dimensions: uses, consumption, temporality. Dealing with energy also means associating parameters that account for the course of things and that, until now, have not been part of the concerns of those involved in construction projects.

Finally, the last section is defined as the logical continuation of the proposed approach. It is a question of articulating the two previous teachings to propose methodological advances in a quest to aid decision-making at every stage of a project. What's interesting...
