5. Resin injections
5.1 Injection types
Synthetic resins are used for injection in a number of cases:
injection into cracks either to restore the monolithic nature of cracked structures once the cracks have stabilized, or, in the case of active cracks, to seal them and thus eliminate liquid leakage;
injections of hollow or cavernous areas, pebble nests, concreting defects in reinforced or prestressed concrete structures, etc. ;
injections of prestressing jackets and seals ;
injections between prefabricated concrete elements to achieve monolithism, e.g. injection of epoxy resin between prefabricated tunnel voussoirs, injection of cement grout between the studs...
