This article presents and explains the concepts of analysis and verification. The global analysis phase, which is crucial to the day-to-day work of the engineer in charge of the structure, has been examined in greater depth, particularly with regard to 2nd-order effects and the possibility of carrying out a global plastic analysis.

Practical criteria for the classification of frameworks and the choice of an overall analysis method were given, along with various practical considerations on the potential impact on dimensioning.

Finally, a concrete example of the application of the methods most frequently used in practice (methods II and III) is presented.
