3. Gravel
Remember that the term "girder" covers all structural elements of the deck other than the decking. More specifically, these are the main beams and their bracing. In this section, we'll be looking at the three classic forms of girder construction: solid web, box and lattice girders, with their corresponding forms of bracing; and in both ways of arranging the girder: below and above the decking.
