4. Formula qualification
As explained above, the quality of a structure concreted with BAP depends very strongly (but not exclusively) on the quality of the concrete, with the parameters of the placing being much less influential than for ordinary vibrated concretes.
The formulation qualification test is therefore particularly important: it involves defining an Abrams Cone spread range (and the corresponding water content range) within which the expected BAP performance is obtained.
For fresh properties in particular, the principle is as follows:
the high-derivative formula (with maximum spread) must be satisfactorily stable;
the low-derivative formula (with minimum spread) must lead to a correct filling rate and must not lead to a deterioration in density due to insufficient gravity...
