Aerobic

Refers to a medium containing dioxygen (O 2 ).

Anaerobic

An anaerobic environment is one in which dioxygen (O 2 ) is absent.

Anoxia

In soil science, anoxia describes the lack of oxygen in a soil.

Non-collective sanitation

Refers to any facility that collects, transports, treats and disposes of domestic wastewater from dwellings not connected to a public wastewater collection and treatment system.
