  • Adiabatic; adiabatic – Term expressing the absence of heat transfer between the system under study and the external environment.

  • equivalent age – Time during which concrete must be maintained at the reference temperature (usually 20°C) to obtain the same maturity value as under actual curing conditions.

  • Béton auto-plaçant; self-compacting concrete – Concrete that flows and compacts by gravity alone, capable of filling the formwork with its reinforcement, sheathing, reservations, etc., while maintaining its homogeneity.

  • Énergie d'activation; activation energy – Quantity characterizing the temperature sensitivity of concrete hardening speed.
