10.1 Economic coverage

This type of roofing is preferably used on cladding (vertical walls), but can also be used on all types of roofing.

It can be used to cover the building's insulating panels, giving it an aesthetic and economical appearance. Slate is generally laid on wood lath, but can also be laid on metal lath.

This type of roofing is said to be economical because of the reduced use (depending on the choice of installation method) of battens and/or slates (table 8 ).
