1. Regulations

European Directive 95/16/EC of June 29, 1995 (amended by Directive 2006/42/EC of May 17, 2006 art. 24), transposed in France by Decree No. 2000-810 of August 24, 2000 on the marketing of new elevators (amended by Decree No. 2010-782 of July 8, 2010), defines :

  • LIFT;

  • the essential health and safety requirements to be met by the elevator;

  • conformity assessment procedure ;

  • rules for affixing and CE marking.

A new European Directive 2014/33/EU on the harmonization of the laws of the Member States relating to elevators and safety components for elevators applies from April 18, 2014.
