
5. Humidity in the building
It's important to remember that a wall is considered dry when there's no moisture inside.
This somewhat simplistic definition should not obscure the fact that the wall is the forced passage of a multitude of constraints that oppose the outside to the inside: condensation, overpressure, capillarity, etc.
Moisture is responsible for the majority of building losses, and its presence must be analyzed in order to establish a sound diagnosis - a solid foundation for building pathology. Knowing the source of the moisture enables effective action to be taken.
Humidity has four possible sources:
constitution water ;
horizontal seepage water ;
water from capillary rise;...
