If an installation has been well designed and built, it still needs to be properly used and maintained to ensure that it remains safe to use over time.
In general, annual maintenance of all appliances is mandatory.
The operations to be carried out when servicing an appliance or installation have only been described in detail in the regulations for gas CMV installations. For other connected appliances, a French standard on maintenance contracts defines the minimum operations to be carried out.
This maintenance is particularly important for connected appliances whose combustion products may become blocked for accidental reasons.
It is the user's responsibility to have his or her installation and appliances serviced by a competent professional, and to have the flues swept annually.
