2. Different rankings

2.1 Use classifications

There are three types of use classification: European classification according to NF EN 1307, UPEC classification and ICCO classification.

UPEC classification, which is specific to the French market, is awarded in different ways depending on the nature of the product: certification, technical opinion, approval. In the case of textile floor coverings, both NF-UPEC certification and UPEC homologation are based on standard NF EN 1307, with specific additional requirements.

Created by CSTB –, owner of the – trademark, the UPEC classification defines the performance characteristics of a covering confronted with specific constraints.
