6. Conclusion (and outlook)
The calculation method described here is fairly simple to use, as it is largely based on previous versions of DTU 39. In its current version, it has the merit of being based on European codes defining wind and snow, and of harmonizing the definition of these loads with those used in façade and joinery work.
European standardization work on the same subject has not yet resulted in a generalized method for calculating glazing thicknesses in buildings. As soon as they are finalized, DTU 39 will have to be amended.
