7. Double-skin curtain wall

Its design is that of an ordinary curtain wall façade, and at the front, from 20 cm to 1 m, or even more, a 2nd façade will be added.

The exterior façade is often a VEA. But it can also be a more common facade with large windows.

The interior facade can be :

  • full-height curtain wall ;

  • a semi-curtain ;

  • strip frames with concrete spandrel;

  • or even frames in a concrete shell.

When the interior facade is an integral curtain wall, the constraints involved in securing the outer skin are not negligible, since it has to be passed through at the fasteners.
