3. Manufacture of sanitary parts
3.1 Types of materials
Every sanitaryware piece is made up of a shard coated with a layer of colored enamel, where necessary (for use or aesthetic reasons). Depending on the size of the piece, the shard is :
en vitréous
This is a non-porous material with a very high glass phase content (60-80%).
in fine stoneware
The lower vitreous phase content (resulting in a slight porosity rendered harmless by the enamel coating) limits deformation during firing, enabling the manufacture of larger products (sinks, shower trays, etc.) in addition to the same parts as in vitréous.
