4. Regeneration coefficient and separation efficiency
We have already seen that, by adjusting regeneration parameters such as intermediate pressure P int and elution coefficient PF, as well as the number of equilibrations NEQ of a PSA cycle, it is possible to find the optimum performance of a PSA.
The aim of this optimization work is to find the key parameter for optimizing PSA cycles, known as the Regeneration Factor (RF), which defines the ratio between the actual flow rates and volumes of the compound to be produced, leaving the regeneration stages and entering the adsorption phase:
