4. European standardization in the refrigeration sector

4.1 CEN/TC 182 "Refrigeration systems – Safety and environmental requirements".

The existence of CEN/TC 182 "Refrigeration systems – Safety and environmental requirements" is closely linked to current regulations on the protection of the ozone layer. Political awareness of environmental aspects and energy consumption led to the introduction of extensive legislation affecting the refrigeration and air-conditioning markets.
