6. Ice trays
At present, ice storage systems or ice tanks are designed with coils consisting of long serpentine tubes, providing maximum exchange surface area.
There are two possibilities for destocking, depending on whether or not the melt is close to the tube that forms the coil.
6.1 Internal merger
In this case, cold glycol water flows through the tube. It's conceivable that the entire tank could be crystallized. To melt the ice, a hot liquid must be circulated through the tube (see figure 11 ). A cylinder of water forms around the tube (figure 11 b)....
