3. Thermal calculation of furnaces

Naturally, each type of furnace has its own calculation process, depending on its technology and application. For this reason, only the principles of calculation common to all furnaces will be given here, and it will be useful to refer to specialized articles.

3.1 Energy balances

Whatever the oven, the aim is to supply the products with a quantity of heat determined by :

  • its initial or loading temperature ;

  • the desired final temperature or discharge temperature ;

  • the mass of the products to be heated ;

  • the heat of mass of the products and, if applicable, the heats of transformation during the temperature rise....
