1.1 Standards
Standards are definitions written and approved by consensus by national and then international technical committees, specifying all the conditions that a quality system must meet to obtain the required precision in terms of final results and acceptable repeatability and reproducibility criteria.
The main international organization bringing together experts from all member countries is the Geneva-based ISO (International Organization for Standardization), which has a technical committee where the various texts are drawn up, and is structured into sub-groups. For the solid fossil fuels sector, the TC 27 committee comprises :
