7. Operation

Hydraulic safety must be maximized, as the energies of water are enormous and rivers are increasingly used for a variety of activities (fishing, water sports, etc.). A malfunction can have serious consequences for the continuity of operations and the image of hydroelectricity.

7.1 Principles

The aim of maintenance is to keep the plant running as economically as possible, while ensuring the safety of people and installations, and the proper operation of equipment.

The operator must have a good knowledge of the installations and their design. During construction and acceptance, the operator must have all the information required to draw up inspection, measurement and maintenance sheets.
