Beer

Beverage obtained by alcoholic fermentation of a wort prepared from cereal malt (50% by weight), cereal raw materials, edible sugars and hops. Aromatic herbs or natural spices may be added.

Brewing

A set of operations enabling the hydrolysis of starch, complemented by other physico-chemical transformations.

Spent grains

Solid remains of malt grains after mashing.

Hopping

The action of boiling the wort to give it bitterness with hops, and better stability.
