6. Compressor suction systems

6.1 Filtration systems

The air entering the compressor must be filtered beforehand to avoid rapid damage to the compressor and combustion turbine. Filtration devices are installed at the air intake duct. Their beneficial effect on combustion turbine longevity is offset by a reduction in performance (figure 23 ).
