1.1 Cycle architecture

The schematic diagram of a simple organic Rankine cycle is shown in figure 1 . It shows that, like a steam power plant cycle, such an installation comprises four components, through which the same fluid flow passes:

  • a pump ;

  • a steam generator ;

  • an expansion machine ;

  • a condenser.
