5. Auxiliary devices

A number of peripheral devices are required for fluidized beds to function properly. These include continuous solids feed and discharge devices, fluidization air compression and distribution, and gas-solid separation devices.

5.1 Feeding and filling of divided solids

Feeding a dense fluidized bed or discharging divided solids to the outside of the bed can be carried out continuously from :

  • screw conveyor (figure 6 ) or pneumatic conveying systems. Divided solids can be fed above or below the bed...
