2.1 Yield types
It is important to distinguish between the different types of yields (production rates) that we will discuss in this paragraph and whose terms can be found in the literature:
pre-neutron yields: these correspond to FF yields (before prompt neutron emission). They are very important for improving our understanding of the fission process, but are not relevant to applications and are therefore not provided in the nuclear data libraries evaluated;
independent" or "post-neutron" yields correspond to yields after emission of prompt neutrons, but before β decay – . In other words, they correspond to the yields of primary fission products. They are...
