4. Conclusion

It's difficult to draw definitive conclusions on such a vast subject. However, it can be said that the production of uranium concentrates, the first commercial product of the nuclear fuel cycle, is a mining and metallurgical industry that has both the traditional characteristics of non-ferrous metal mines and metallurgical plants, and special characteristics linked in particular to the presence of radioactive elements, uranium itself and above all its descendants such as radium 226 and radon 222.
