7.1 Uranium

Purified uranyl nitrate solutions from the last uranium cycle are concentrated by evaporation to obtain a 300-400 g/L uranium solution for reuse or storage.

7.2 Plutonium

To avoid solution concentration, storage and transport operations, plutonium leaving the last purification cycle in nitrate form is generally converted as directly as possible into solid PuO 2 dioxide at the reprocessing plant.
